Smart Girl Style (Part 2)

Hey guys! It’s past midnight so it’s officially Friday, but I will write this post like it is still Thursday and I am reporting on what happened earlier “today”!

So a few things I realized: I totally stole the title Smart Girl Style from Smart Mail, which is the weekly newsletter sent out that I write for. I handle the Making Headlines section which is all about women in the world making a difference and standing for change. Feel free to tweet me if there is a woman that inspires you that you would love to see written about in smart mail! If you don’t know what I’m talking about then go follow Smart Mail ASAP! It’s headed by Katherine Labonte, who I got to meet today along with fellow writer Brooke Safferman! Both were incredibly sweet and it was great to meet them in person. Here’s a pic of the three of us together!

It’s funny because I’m really not that sassy – but us smart girls have that side to us I guess?

As for my outfit, I decided to stray (like yesterday) from the business casual dress guide and focus more on my style. I matched my favorite “blah blah blah” shirt with my new Madewell skirt! (This skirt will be so versatile going forward!!)

Here I am just wearing the Stella & Dot wristlet from the conference because Laura and I just went out quick without our heavy handbags to snap some pics!

Like I said, I will do a full post on the conference and what I learned and overall highlights! But because it was so exciting I will include that today there was a Blogging & Branding panel that included Mackenzie Horan & Carly Heitlinger. Laura and I got to meet both of them!

They were both so incredibly sweet and had a ton of insight! Also, since I will be going through the college process next year, it was great to hear an anecdote from Mackenzie about how she visited 50ish schools and finally found the perfect fit for her.

Like I said, expect another post with a full wrap up. I had such a great time and I want to congratulate Emily Raleigh and the rest of the Smart Girls team on a job well done!! All their hard work completely paid off.

Xo, Jamie

Love your outfit!! So bummed I couldn’t make it to the conference. Hopefully I’ll be able to go next year though, it looks like it was a blast!
