I’m a bit of a technology nerd and I love see the new collaborations between fashion designers and big tech companies. Recently, major brands rolled out new products with the purpose of bridging the gap between fashion and function.
Tory Burch for Fitbit – This designer has created a new line to make a fitness tracker product more chic. I absolutely love this idea! I think it’s such a fun way to keep a healthier lifestyle while also adding to an outfit. There are four parts to the collection, two rubber bands (pink and blue) and two brass items (one bracelet and one necklace). Although Mashable notes that this brass isn’t the best quality, it looks instantly chic and is definitely a fun way to jazz up the Fitbit. Although there are other alternatives to the Fitbit in terms of fitness trackers, this one definitely has an added appeal given it’s new fashionable twist!
Designers for Target Phone Cases – What do Trina Turk, Nicole Miller, Tracy Reese, and Orla Kiely have in common? They all recently collaborated with Target to create cute phone cases at an affordable prices! Tracy Reese is one of my favorite designers (see here) so I am thrilled to check out her line of cases (even though I just bought this case a few days ago!).
DVF Made for Glass – I’m a little late on this particular bandwagon but to do a post on technology and fashion and not include Diane von Furstenberg’s collaboration with Google Glass would be absolutely ridiculous. The line features glasses fit for the chicest and most technology advanced men and women all over the globe. The price point, $1800, does make them a bit more exclusive than some of these other products hitting the market, but Google Glass definitely is a new innovation that fits a higher cost.
