Weekend Recap: Suburbs to City

With college applications and mounds of homework, it was nice to take a bit of a breather this weekend and do things I love: spend time with family, shop, and eat Mexican food. I decided a fun peek into my life (and my latest purchases!) would be through a weekend recap post. Without further ado…

Friends & Family Sales / Kate Spade had 30% off all weekend and I had to take advantage of it (#shopaholic). I bought the “If These Walls Could Talk” phone case for $16 (!!!) and drumroll… a new handbag, the Southport Avenue Carmen in Black. Talk about a deal: this bag was originally $428 and with a sale on the sale, it came out to $175. I’ll reveal them in another blog post as soon as they arrive in the mail. Picture above was taken in the KS department of Lord & Taylor!

Black, White, and Grey / Guys, I have a bit of a problem… those are pretty much the only colors I ever wear! I went shopping this weekend a picked up a few pieces that are all in the same color palette… Left to right: French Connection, Lucky, Chaser

Fresh Guacamole & Other Foods / Rosa Mexicano in NYC is SO good. They have a ton of locations so if you are the visiting the city, it shouldn’t be hard to fit it into your meal schedule! The guacamole is made in front of you, the empanadas and plantains are heavenly, and the churros are too good to be true. They brought out a flan with a candle in it for my birthday!

Shopping My Own Closet / Don’t you love it when you find something in your closet you either forgot you had or forgot fit you? I noticed this orange and maroon shirt earlier this week and knew I had to try it out. Little did I know, it still fits and is totally on trend! Perfect to wear out for a night in the city.

Inspiration / I spotted this quote on Dana’s Bakery’s instagram page and absolutely loved it so much that I posted it to my own twitter. It’s message could not be more relevant to my life right now.

xoxo, Jamie

Hahaha yes! I’m a huge fan of word play (and just words in general) so love this!
