I absolutely loved doing last weekend’s recap and decided I would do it again for this weekend!
I cannot guarantee that this type of post will be published every Monday, but for now I’ll keep it going. For me personally, Weekend Recaps are better than a Friday Links post simply because I have more time to peruse the web over the weekend and gather some fun findings for you all! So here we go…
Outfit / I love including these quick little outfit snapshots, especially because I didn’t have enough pictures to do a whole outfit post. (Shirt: Green Envelope, Pants: Joes Jeans, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)
Pampering / I got a much need manicure this weekend! I chose Essie’s Velvet Voyeur and I absolutely love it. The picture above has a bit of a filter on it so it might be hard to see the cranberry undertones of the shade, but it truly is gorgeous!
Pampering Pt. 2 / This form of pampering comes in the form of comfort food, which I definitely indulged in this weekend. This past week was deadline for my school newspaper where we stay after school from 2-9 p.m. which is super stressful. I absolutely love being on staff and working with everyone else, but all the late nights and lack of sleep definitely pile up! Saturday I went to a BBQ restaurant for some nice southern grub, and then between Friday and Saturday I went for ice cream twice (yes, I know it is October).
Story Time / I miss reading so much! I haven’t really had time lately to curl up with a good book. I picked up these two, Orphan Train and Reconstructing Amelia (+ the latest Shopaholic book, which is not pictured!) so that I always have some reading material on hand when I get a quick second to take a break.
Inspiration / I love Carrie’s Sunday Reflections posts, where she challenges herself every week with a positive goal. This week’s quote came from Oscar de La Renta, who just passed away. His death sent the fashion world into a frenzy, as his insight and designs received much praise among the community. I am so sad to see such a fashion legend go. This quote is a great reminder that taking risks is, dare I say, normal in the grand scheme of things. It is hard for me to take this advice, but I’ll say it anyways: step out of your comfort zone and strive for something that might be a bit harder to grasp.
Extras / Sean won Project Runway! I’m throwing it back to when I did PR posts over the summer (see here). I wish there could’ve been a three way win – Amanda and Kini were also amazing designers!
What did you do this weekend?
