DIY Peppermint Crunch Cookies

Countdown to Blogmas has officially begun! Katelyn was first up in the official rotation (we all posted on Dec. 1 an overview of the collaboration), so check out her post here.

This week was all about DIY. Now let me tell you – I am a klutz, which if anything, translates into not DIY friendly. I thought I could conquer an easy holiday recipe, but it turns out my baking skills are not as great as I had hoped they would be… But I’ll get to that later.

Here we go…

A huge part of the holiday season is parties. Tip: don’t show up empty handed! Try your hand at the following recipe. These cookies would also be great for a cookie exchange, which I totally recommend as a fun event to get your girlfriends together to kick off the holiday season.

The original plan: Andes Double Chocolate Peppermint Crunch Cookies

The final result: The saltiest cookies ever

Here’s the story: I added ½ a tablespoon, not ½ a teaspoon of salt. Oops. So in theory, these cookies would’ve been amazing, but my klutz-y ways struck again.

So while I definitely would recommend trying out this recipe (courtesy of this website), don’t make the same mistake I did. Or simply forego salt altogether (which my parents informed me would’ve been a smart choice after the baking was done).

What’s your favorite holiday season recipe? Make sure to check out the rest of the other bloggers this week to see what DIYs they are doing to kick off the holiday season.

xoxo, Jamie
