Can we just throw it back to last July for a quick sec? Laura and I spent a few days in NYC at the absolutely amazing Smart Girls Group Conference. I dedicated three blog posts to this amazing two-day event: here, here, and here. (And a what’s in my bag NYC edition too!)
I was particularly proud of that last post – I did it in timeline format and highlighted all of the amazing parts of our time in New York and the conference. Laura and I had an absolutely amazing time – it was so cool to hear from a bunch of different people on their experience in various industries. We were also surrounded by some of our favorite fellow bloggers, which was a pretty cool way to spend two days. Although we didn’t branch out and talk to too many people, we did get to meet Carly and Mackenzie which was (at the time) very monumental for us.
The Live Smart Series also provided me with so much inspiration going forward for my blog. Last summer, I really kicked The Fashion Newcomer up a notch and I believe that lasted throughout the whole past school year (and I hope it’ll last going forward in the future too!).
See the yellow circle on the left? That’s me! We took this group picture towards the end of the second day. It is honestly so cool to think that I’m connected to all the girls around me through Smart Girls Group. Each and every single person who attended the conference was so driven, unique, and ready to make a name for themselves!
This year’s conference seems as if it will be even better than the last. Some of the amazing speakers for the NYC 2015 conference include…
- Anne Fulenwider, Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire
- Erin Clift, Executive Vice President of Spotify
- Maribeth Bisienere, Senior Vice President at Disney
- Krista Robertson, Head of Social Media for Major League Baseball
- Neha Gandhi, Executive Vice President of Editorial Strategy at Refinery29
And so many others! One of the major perks of attending (in my eyes), is the swag bag you get upon arrival. Last year, the bag was jam-packed full of goodies from brands like Whitney English, Stella & Dot, Kenneth Cole, and more. This year, it is estimated to be worth over $300 – and has products from Erin Condren (type-As unite!) and other awesome companies.
Smart Girls Group is also doing two things differently this year: an extra conference in Chicago, and another one day event in NYC called the Live Smart Series for Digital Influencers on Sunday!
I still have yet to buy a ticket (my bad!) but I’m pretty sure I’ll be attending and would LOVE to see you there! Click here to buy a ticket.
Seriously, you do NOT want to miss out on this conference – it is so incredible!
Will you be attending?
