Is it a good idea to wear Air Jordans at the gym or when running?
This is a bit of a tough one. The reason it’s tough is because often cheap Air Jordans are used as a status symbol or a way to ‘flex’, as they say, which means people often spend a lot of money on them and as a result they are afraid to actually do anything in them that could wear them out. Now personally I think if you are looking for a shoe to run in you have better options than the Air Jordan line. I would have a look at the Nike Zoom line if you’re looking for sprinting shoes, specifically, I would recommend the Nike Zoom Terra Kiger 5 Off-White Black (W). These are a great shoe as they are both stylish and practical.
When it comes to running longer distances, I would recommend looking at the Nike Air Max range. From the shoes in that range I personally like Air Max 97 Off-White Black. Although I would recommend buying a UA pair of cheap Jordan shoes as it will help save a few bucks and you still get to have some quality shoes.
Now the gym is a bit of a grey area as for the most part you won’t need to be running. When lifting weights, I do believe it would be suitable to be wearing Jordans as the activity would cause too much strain on the shoes. One thing to keep in mind is that you probably won’t want to be wearing your most expensive Jordans. If you managed to score a pair of Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White Chicago’s then you probably wouldn’t want to wear them out by wearing them to the gym.
In conclusion I don’t think it would be suitable to wear Air Jordans when running as they are just not built for that type of activity, however, if you are working out at the gym then really any flat based shoe will do the trick. So, if you want to wear Jordans at the gym I say go for it!
